About ProTech
ProTech Systems, Inc. celebrated its 20th Anniversary in February 2005. The roots of the company date
back to the late seventies, when millions of wood heaters were purchased in the U. S. to defray high
energy costs. Martin Wawrla, president, recognized the need for upgrading masonry chimneys to meet
requirements of these airtight heaters and reduce losses due to chimney or house fires.
In cooperation with American Boa of Cumming, GA, Martin developed the VENTINOX Chimney Lining
System, which was the first product of its kind that passed all tests and obtained a listing with Underwriters
Laboratories, Inc. in February of 1982. Introduced to the American market place shortly thereafter,
VENTINOX has since become an established brand name for stainless steel liners and holds an
impeccable track record.
VENTINOX Liners
To facilitate research into additional products, Martin formed ProTech Systems, Inc. in August of 1985,
while continuing its long-term partnership with American Boa.
TherMix, a prepackaged masonry insulation material was introduced in 1985. Filled between stainless
steel liners and a masonry shell, TherMix increases the thermal performance of these chimney liners and
adds a significant margin of safety to consumers.
The VENTINOX product line has grown to include VENTINOXHiFlex for solid fuel, high temperature
applications, VENTINOXVG for mid efficiency gas and oil fired heating equipment and VENTINOXVFT
for non-condensing gas and oil heaters. VENTINOX liners feature a unique continuous-weld construction,
creating a one-piece seamless flue that is highly flexible and impervious to exhaust gases and
condensates. Application specific alloys were carefully researched and selected for each VENTINOX
liner, all of which feature a limited, lifetime warranty.

To accommodate production of FasNSeal, the revolutionary product developed by ProTech Systems for
venting high efficiency gas appliances, Martin formed ProTech Manufacturing, Inc. in July of 1996. A
21,000 sf building was constructed and fit up with the latest technology welding and metal forming
equipment to give ProTech Manufacturing, Inc. a home and begin production of the new FasNSeal vent
system. Since August of 1998, the manufacture of components for all VENTINOX Lining Systems was
also brought into the Albany , NY production facility.
Today, FasNSeal has earned broad acceptance in the Heating and Ventilating market. Featuring a
built-in gasket and locking band in each vent length and component, installation time is cut in half and the
possibility of installer error greatly reduced. This presents a significant break-through in this highly
competitive industry.
In August 2005, ProTech expanded yet again with the grand opening of its 15,000 square foot warehouse
facility. All warehouse/shipping/receiving functions have been moved into this new building thus doubling
production space.
We are in a fast growth mode with our innovative products, says Martin, and we expect to continue our
research into additional specialty products for the Heating and Ventilating market.
